Overview
The Hoymiles VAS-7-G2 is an AC charging point (Mode 3 to IEC 61851-1) of 7 kW, single-phase at 230 V (L/N/PE) with up to 32 A and a tethered 5 m Type 2 charging cable (IEC 62196-2, Case C). Built in are DC 6 mA residual current detection (IEC 62955), protection against overcurrent, over- and undervoltage and overtemperature, surge protection and an emergency stop button. According to the manual, the supply cable must be connected to a dedicated Type A RCBO or an MCB with Type A RCD in the distribution board.

The charger has no display: status via LED, start and stop via RFID card (IEC 14443 A, two cards supplied), the S-Miles app or free charging. Over RS485 to the BMS port of a Hoymiles storage inverter (HYS-LV-EUG1, HAS-LV-EUG1, HYT-HV-EUG1, HAT-HV-EUG1 or HYS-LV-EUG2) it takes part in the energy management, including a green power mode and dynamic load management; if a battery is connected as well, an RJ45 coupler is needed, which is not supplied. The minimum start power is 1.4 kW.
Enclosure 280 × 280 × 148 mm without pole, approx. 3.75 kg, IP65 and IK10 for indoor and outdoor use, wall mounting or mounting on a separately available pole, operation from -30 to +50 °C, natural convection. Certified CE-RED and CB, compliant with IEC 61851-1, IEC 61851-21-2 and IEC 62955. Hoymiles grants 3 years of warranty on the AC EV charger in Europe.
