Overview
The Marstek Smart Meter CT003 is the P1 dongle for the Venus-E home battery: it plugs with an RJ12 connector into the P1 port of the Dutch or Belgian smart meter (DSMR/SMR 5) and reads grid import and export there every second. Marstek sells it as the CT003 Smart Meter with P1 & IR Connection (type code SMR-P1): besides P1 it can also read the meter through its infrared port, for instance on meters without a free P1 port. Housing 53.7 x 52 x 25.5 mm, 0.3 kg, magnetic mount, own consumption below 2 W, operating temperature -20 to 45 degrees. Power via USB-C 5 V 1 A, communication with the battery over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.4.

Choose the CT003 when the home has a free P1 port; you then do not have to fit current clamps in the meter cabinet and the reading equals the fiscal meter. If the meter has no P1 or it is taken, use the Marstek Smart Meter CT002 with DIN-rail CTs. The CT003 controls the Marstek Venus-E 3.0 and Marstek Venus-E Mini so the battery regulates to zero on the meter.
Per the current CT003 user manual (2026) Marstek grants 3 years warranty on the meter. Installation: dongle in the P1 port, connect USB-C power, pair to the battery in the Marstek app; the meter sits indoors in the meter cabinet and is not meant for outdoor use.
