Overview
The Dyness Tower BDU (Battery Disconnect Unit, BDU-1.5G) is the control unit of the classic Dyness Tower T7 to T21. The BDU sits on top of the stacked Dyness HV9637 modules and contains the battery management, the DC main breaker with short-circuit protection, a fuse, the on/off switch and wake button, the external positive and negative sockets, an RJ45 port for CAN/RS485 to the inverter and a Wi-Fi antenna.

Every tower needs exactly one BDU; the capacity is in the 2 to 6 HV9637 modules. The BMS protects against overcharge, deep discharge, overcurrent and high or low temperature and balances the cells. According to the packing list the BDU comes with a black 2 m RJ45 communication cable to the inverter and a red and a black 6 mm² DC cable of 2 m.
The BDU only fits the classic Tower with HV9637; Tower S3 and Tower Pro have their own BDU. For parallel towers through the Dyness Tower Combiner Box DCB-TW (up to 5 towers) set the DIP switches on each BDU according to the Dyness parallel guide. Dyness grants 10 years warranty on the Tower system.
