Overview
The Hyxi HYX-EBDU-H2 is the battery control unit (BDU) of the Hyxi H2 high-voltage battery. A column consists of a base (5.6 kg), one to five HYX-E50B-H2 packs and the BDU on top; this gives HYX-E50-H2 to HYX-E250-H2 with 5.3 to 26.5 kWh (5 to 25 kWh usable) and 102.4 to 512 V nominal. In a parallel system (HYX-E300/400/500-H2) the EBDU-H2 sits on the second column and the HYX-EBDUP-H2 on the main column.

The BDU weighs 9 kg, is designed for 32 A charge and discharge current and communicates with the inverter via CAN and RS485. It has an emergency stop switch, HV+ and HV- connections, a CAN connection to the inverter and separate buttons for the 12 V and high-voltage supply. Four LEDs show the state of charge, two LEDs operation and alarm. Protection rating IP65 (packs IP67), operating temperature -10 to +50 °C.
Mind the number of packs: one pack (86.4-115.2 V) is below the battery range of the HT inverters, five packs (432-576 V) are above that of the HS inverters. Hyxi declares the H2 battery compatible with the hybrid inverters HYX-H3K-HS to HYX-H8K-HS, HYX-H5K-HT to HYX-H12K-HT and HYX-H15K-HT to HYX-H25K-HT. Check the battery voltage window of the inverter: HS 80-490 V, HT 150-600 V. According to the Hyxi manual the battery is installed indoors. Hyxi provides a 10-year warranty under its European warranty terms.
