Overview
The Hoymiles HYS-5.0LV-EUG1 is a single-phase hybrid inverter of 5000 W (5000 VA) for 48 V low-voltage batteries: battery voltage 40 to 60 V, Li-ion or lead-acid, with up to 100 A charge and discharge current (5000 W) and BMS communication via CAN. The PV side has 2 MPPTs with one string each of up to 14 A (short-circuit current 17 A), a recommended PV power up to 7500 Wp, an MPPT range of 125 to 500 V, a start-up voltage of 150 V and a maximum input voltage of 550 V. Under VDE-AR-N 4105 the datasheet limits the rated power to 4600 W.

On grid failure the backup output switches over within 10 ms and briefly supplies 10000 VA for 10 s, provided PV and battery power are sufficient. Hoymiles' compatible battery list (REV3.10) includes the Hoymiles LB-(5-20)S-G1 and the Dyness DL5.0C and Powerbox G2; Hoymiles recommends lead-acid only for experienced installers. According to the manual, a smart meter with CT and a DTS communication stick are in the accessory box, and up to 10 inverters can run in parallel. MPPT efficiency 99.9 percent, maximum 97.6 percent, EU efficiency 97.0 percent, maximum output current 21.7 A.
