Overview
The AEG-BDU (AEG product code AS-BSH08-DU) is the battery control unit of the AEG AS-BSH08 high-voltage battery: one BDU per battery column on top of one to five AS-BMH08-5K battery modules and the AS-BMH08-BP base. This gives systems of 5.3 to 26.5 kWh (AS-BSH08-5K to 25K, 5 to 25 kWh usable) with a nominal voltage of 102.4 to 512 V.

The BDU weighs 9 kg, communicates with the inverter via CAN and RS485 and shows the state of charge with four LEDs (25, 50, 75 and 100 percent) plus two status LEDs for operation and alarm. Maximum charge and discharge current 32 A, protection rating IP65 (modules IP67), operating temperature -10 to +50 °C. The modules connect through a quick-plug interface.
For two columns in parallel (31.8 to 53 kWh) the AEG-EBDUP-H2 is added. AEG provides a 10-year product warranty on the AS-BSH08 range.
